“Scratching me!†A common comment from you with most of the clothes you own. Starting with your shirts you wanted the tags cut off because they irritated your neck. One of the benefits of this is that when folding laundry I know whether a shirt is yours or Jackson’s. This quickly transferred to all the tags on all the clothing, like tags on shorts and pants. If you could see a tag you wanted it cut off. In one incident you wanted the tool loop on your carpenter pants cut off. Probably because it looked like a tag sticking out of your pants. Of course, a few months later when you got some carpenter overalls you liked the loop because you figured out that it was for tools.
for the love of animals… especially rilla
Your mom and I have noticed lately the you have a love of animals. Whenever you see an animal, especially dogs and cats, you point and let out a squeal in their direction. You are quite fond of our cat Rilla. Lucky for you she has had a few years to get use to Jack and she is getting a little hard of hearing. This provides you will plenty of opportunities to give her long smothering hugs.

vacuum cleaner obsession
So the story goes a little something like this. Mom was vacuuming one day and you were hanging out watching. The vacuum cleaner was unplugged without turning it off and when it was plugged back in you were standing behind it and received a blast of hot air. More than anything this scared you. For the next severeal weeks you were afraid of this common household appliance. Then one day you became curious. We’re not sure what changed but you seemed to want to vacuum daily. You would have mom or me follow you to the closet where the vacuum cleaner was stored. When we did use it you were right there acting as a supervisor of sorts. We’ll see if you’re still interested when you’re a teenager and it’s one of your chores.

memory
what does a 10 month old child remember. that is the question. in your case you remember where you left your bottle of water. what follows was told to me by your mother during a phone conversation as i was on a business trip to boston. you, mom, and jack had returned home from a fun afternoon at the park. all of you were playing in the family room when all of a sudden you decided to crawl out of the room. mom followed you into your room. yes, you know your way around the one-story house. you weren’t going in to play. no, you had acquired a thirst while playing in the family room and remembered that you had left your water bottle in your room by your car seat. when mom turned the corner to see what you were doing she found you sitting in the middle of your room enjoying a cold drink of water. refreshing!
