wow. in the last week you’ve really started to figure out the walking thing. at this point you can walk about six feet before you need to take a rest and flop down on the floor. as walt disney said “keep moving forward.”
walking and talking
okay not really talking, but communicating. you are amazingly clear when it comes to things you like and things you don’t like. you clearly communicate that you want something by reaching out with both arms while making a cheerful sound that sounds like the word “hi.†when you don’t want something you push it away with one open hand and turn your head to the side. i’m looking forward to how this evolves into words and sentences.
the walking is going great. you are probably 90% there. you can walk without any problem, but when you brush up against something or someone, like your brother jack, brushes up against you your balance is thrown off a little.
memory
what does a 10 month old child remember. that is the question. in your case you remember where you left your bottle of water. what follows was told to me by your mother during a phone conversation as i was on a business trip to boston. you, mom, and jack had returned home from a fun afternoon at the park. all of you were playing in the family room when all of a sudden you decided to crawl out of the room. mom followed you into your room. yes, you know your way around the one-story house. you weren’t going in to play. no, you had acquired a thirst while playing in the family room and remembered that you had left your water bottle in your room by your car seat. when mom turned the corner to see what you were doing she found you sitting in the middle of your room enjoying a cold drink of water. refreshing!

cutting teeth
it’s almost 4:30 in the morning and i can’t sleep. i can’t sleep because you can’t sleep. you can’t sleep because you’re cutting teeth. i can’t imagine what that feels like. your reaction to the experience would indicate that it’s pretty darn uncomfortable. ouch. you finally fell asleep after a teething tablet and some quiet rocking in the rocking chair. sleep well ty.
